| Icheon World Ceramic Center located at Seolbong Park,
where hills and lake make a beautiful view, is equipped
with diverse ceramic related facilities. The center has
established an international network for the goal of introducing
the evolution of contemporary ceramic art to people around
the world, and is involved in many activities for the
development of world ceramic culture.
The Center is composed of four main exhibition halls
and large open spaces where ceramics festivities can
take place, along with an international conference hall
with a capacity to seat 400 persons, and theme parks
featuring traditional Korean kilns, gombangdae (smoking
pipe kilns), and Toya Land. In 2005, a Ceramic Research
Center will open, consisting of a ceramics information
archive, where people can have access to various ceramic
related resources, as well as an international conference
hall with high-tech facilities, and a marketing/e-commerce
support center to help promote the ceramic industry.
Icheon World Ceramic Center has on permanent display
the ceramic works of major Korean and international
ceramists, and also holds special exhibitions to provide
a comprehensive display of the world contemporary ceramics.
This is in line with the Center¡¯s aspiration to lead
the globalization of Korean ceramics and develop into
one of the major centers of international ceramic culture.
