CEBIKO was inaugurated in 2001 with the objectives of upholding the great traditions of the World Ceramic Exposition 2001 Korea(WOCEK).
The World Ceramic Exposition 2001 Korea was held in the three cities of Icheon, Yeoju and Gwangju for 80 days from August to October 2001. It attracted more than six million visitors from 84 countries.

The Expo is widely considered a great success.
It was a milestone in the development of the world's ceramic culture.
The World Ceramic Exposition Foundation(WOCEF) is preparing to make another leap. It seeks to provide an opportunity for ceramic lovers the world over to experience true ceramic culture
once again.
The 2nd World Ceramic Biennale 2003 Korea(CEBIKO) will include International Competition, Special Exhibitions, International Ceramic Symposium, and International Ceramic Workshop.
It will serve as an opportunity for all of us to confirm the potential and future value of 'ceramics', products of art, culture, history, and science.

WOCEK invite all potters and ceramic artists from all corners of the globe to participate in the 2nd World Ceramic Biennale 2003 Korea(CEBIKO) International Competition. You will discover new values in ceramic arts and see the future of ceramic arts at the 2nd CEBIKO International
Competition. Ceramic artists and ceramic lovers will come together with enthusiasm, energy,
ambition, and the spirit of challenge.

The main event of the Biennale is the 2nd International Competition. This is where ceramic artists will compete in the realm of creativity. As was the case in the first competition in 2001, participants are invited to apply in two categories: 'Ceramics for Use-Functional' and 'Ceramics as Expression-Non-Functional.' Ceramic experts from each continent will serve as jurors. The cash prizes that will be awarded are the highest in any such competition by global standards. These generous cash prizes are meant to support those ceramic artists who have the greatest potential and talent and to foster their creativity. WOCEF wishes to contribute to the development of the ceramic arts of the world through this competition in every way in can.

We expect full participation from creative and talented ceramic artist in the 2nd International Competition of CEBIKO. It will open a new horizon to ceramic art in the 21st century.
